Hello,

I'm using joomla ecommerce bundle version 1.5.14 with virtuemart.

The system is running and I am now in the process to integrate the
remaining functions. For the user management was community builder
installed.

I have two questions on this:

1. Does anyone know a good free component or plugin to enable paid
membership based on subscriptions which can be select during the
registration? I tried so much stuff but after all i didn't found a
good one. Btw paypal as payment gateway would be great.

2. I want grant my registered users to authors to submit new content
after paid access. My question is, is there any kind of sync module,
component or plugin which insert the new joomla article as a
virtuemart product based on the joomla category?

Otherwise i have to set up each new content as a product manually in
VM and create a link from the content in joomla to the product in VM.

Or does anyone have a better idea how i can set up paid membership,
pay to read for content, community builder and virtuemart?

Thank you for your answers.

Best wishes

Jochen

Hi Jochen,

Regarding membership solutions, I've only used AEC (http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/e-commerce/paid-membership-a-subscriptions/10723) and recommend it. It is a commercial component, something like US $20 to get started, but is really like a Swiss Army knife of memberships. Once you understand how it works, it's very powerful and flexible, works with PayPal and many other payment gateways, and integrates with a large number of third-party extensions.

On a side note, you should consider updating to Joomla  version 1.5.22. There have been many security and bug fixes since 1.5.14.

Best,
