Does anyone know of any resources related to using a Joomla site as the backend for a Phonegap mobile app? I am wondering where to start (or if it is possible) in using my existing Joomla database as the database for the PhoneGap app. I could go directly into the DB with some PHP outside of Joomla but was just wondering if there were techniques to all Joomla to serve DB content as a sort of Webservice?

Any advice on this sort of development would be great!

Hi, I do not use Phonegap longer (now Sencha Cmd user) but it's easy to export any joomla content via JSON and consume this in your app. I actually do this here: http://jugn.de/m/ - please use a mobile device user agent and click on the news tab to see it. Much better would be an REST API, but...

In general, com_content views are not a bad startpoint TOC look to code.
