J3 404 Component not found error on all my URLs

After a Joomla update I am getting the 404 Component not found error for all my links: DOMAIN/LANG/?&Itemid=XX URL's.
I believe the System - Language Filter plug-in got broken after the update.
The only way I am able to get to to work is setting the plug-in setting to Remove URL Language Code: YES
But I prefer to have it to NO.
Hope this can be solved. thank you

Note: The problem is only with the Default language, not all the other languages.
