I'm trying to write a simple php file to update a database field within Joomla that needs to run via cron job once a day.

I've written these cli files before (back in the J2.5 days), but the code/syntax that I used to use doesn't appear to be working.

Just wondering if anyone here has any J3.x samples or tutorials (that are current) that you could recommend.  Ideally with tips on how to debug problems in a cli/php file.

What is wrong with the examples in the /cli folder?
