My joomla blog has a plugin that talks to SQL Server. The SQL Server  is down we haven't been able to resolve the issue. As a result, this has broken the access to the Joomla site admin so now I can't recover and backup my blog. Is there any way around this? Any opther way to recover my blog? Or, does the SQL have to be fixed in order to get access back to the joomla admin?

Where else should I reach out for help with this?

Please help, our whole site is down and now this news... Thanks in advance.

Elisha,

Is the sql database for the site down or is it the 3rd party database that the plugin connects to that is down? If it's the latter, are you comfortable enough making a change to the database to disable that plugin?

If it is a plugin you should be able to disable it easily unless the solution server you're talking about is the database of your site. If it is the database for your site, that's your whole site broken.

In the latter case, what is the source of your backup? If it is something like Akeeba, the database is backed up as sql, so you can recover your site, but you'll need to do it manually.

Thank you both. The Sql server was fixed so that resolved this issue. We disconnected the plugin since we actually dont need it anymore and this doesnt happen again. Thanks for the info.
