Hi,

I have issues in Joomla 3.0 in article manager content.

- I need to use Read more link in single article but it was not working.Full content was displaying in page.
- But If I used as category Blog, then read more content was working.

Here my question is,Why Read more button was not working in single article ?
We have to enable options in Joomla 3.0 ?

I Just checked these option below :

- I have checked the Text filter in Global configuration.
- Then I have tried JCE and K2 component also.

It doesn't showing the readmore link in anyway for single article.

I have created php.ini files and put it off in magic quotes. But still issues remains.

May I know the way to solve this issues.

:'(

Thanks & Regards

I think the "readmore" link in the single article view only is shown if a user is not logged in. He will then be presented with the login form when he clicks the button.
Is that what you're trying to do?

You could make a custom template override for single article view. In there use the PHP logic from the category blog item layout view to get read more functionality in single articles.

May I ask, why you don't want to show full text in the single article view?

I think there is a setting named something like Show Unauthorized Links that needs to enabled for that to work.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, But it was not working. I tried lot of ways.
Why there is no read more option for single article ?

If I want to show particular limit of characters and rest of the character want to select "Read more" option.
I have to do custom work here using substr or any other function.

But if it is Joomla has  default option means then it will be easy for us!

Hello gopijack,

If I want to show particular limit of characters and rest of the character want to select "Read more" option.
I have to do custom work here using substr or any other function.

Joomla has functions for string manipulation that you can use instead of substr:

Hope this helps
Gerhard

In the article manager options, try to enable the parameter "Show Unauthorised Links".
This will show the intro part of the article even for users who are not authorised, but not the full article. To see the full article they have to log in.
