Add extra title for modules?

Hi

How do you guys manage your modules for your sites/clients?

I mean, I often use prefixes in the titles so it makes sense when sorting by the titles. 

It somewhat works, but essentially that really leaves out displaying the titles within the module(s).

We could always just use "note" field, but I believe the base issue here is, that the same title is being used for two different purposes: Internal identification and external titles.

The ideal solution would be use the title as an internal module thing, and then have a public module title to act as the rendered title.

What do you guys say? Do anyone have a better method or would that be a good solution to have in the core (second "title" field)?

color-code them in Advanced module manager. Backend tags would be cool :)\

I always use the notes - especially as the note shows in the module manager list - i dont see what that doesnt do that your second title thing would do

Just curious, does searching / filtering work on notes? That might be a nice improvement if it doesn't.

@Brian - The purpose is really to filter or sort by own preference (Im using the titles as descriptors for the area/page it's on, but there could be other intents for grouping modules together).

Obviously Peters Module Manager has some great options for it, but the core seems to lack some better possibilities today. 

That were some good suggestion with module categories and same to backend tags, though they sound quite timeconsuming to make :)

well you can filter by "note" just not sort
