Joomla 3 - and still no contact module?

Hi all

While building a friends site, I wondered if there is a reason why we (still) don't have a module to show a com_contact's information.

It seems like it is one of the only things missing (for me at least) to build these very simple sites without using any 3rd party extensions..

I'll be happy to make it for the CMS, but is it too late to get it in 3.0?

No at all, do it ASAP and get it to the feature tracker. That is definitely on my wish list!  So many sites should show their physical address and phone number.

+1. New features for 3.1 need to be in by the 25th of February; so if
you can get it written and submitted by the 20th, that should be enough
time to get some testers for it by the 25th.

That's a great idea,
I scribbled a sort of a rough contact module about a month ago,
it can display

• data of a current/fix contact or
  
• data of a contact according to current/fix user(=creator of article)

maybe you can take it a a base;

This is definitely something I'd be interested in!
What is the current status?

Features I'd like to see:
- Structured data (ie. http://schema.org/Place); Google likes it!
- Google Maps integration (if Platform 12.3 gets in CMS:
