JModelList & JModelItem

Could someone explain when you should use JModelList and when
JModelItem? In 1.6 com_content category model uses JModelItem, whereas
frontpage.php uses an extension of JModelList. Ultimately, they are
displaying very similar output.

Sorry I missed this one Andy.

JModelList and JModelItem are extended version of JModel.

JModelList has several extra method to assist with displaying a list
of "things".

JModelItem looks like it could form the basis for retrieving a single
"thing". I'd say it's there wait to see if there is some commonality
in the frontend singular display models.

JModelForm helps with displaying the edit forms in various locations.

So right now in the front end category (list) layouts we have some of
each, JModelList and JModelItem. Which should be the standard?
