Hi all,

Let's use this thread to confirm article ideas for the March 1 JCM issue. The goal is to launch our new shorter list of JCM topics that came out of the "content strategy" thread.

The JCM Upcoming Issues spreadsheet is now updated for our new shorter list of topics, and ideas have been added to the March 2012 tab that have been talked about in the JCM Skype chat and elsewhere. Ideas that seem tentative or haven't been confirmed are highlighted in yellow. An April 2012 tab has also been created to capture some other article ideas that have been discussed.

It would be great if we could get in the habit of having this discussion every month, with every Author/Editor team letting the rest of the JCM team what their plans are for the next issue, or saying if they need help. And will also help if we can all get in the habit of continuing to add our ideas in the JCM Upcoming Issues spreadsheet.

Thanks,

paul

Hi all,

The March issue launches a week from tomorrow, and we want to publish at least one quality article for each of our new topics.

Right now we've got some empty topics. Can everyone please take a look at the list below and respond in this thread if you can help write an article for one of topics shown in red (nothing submitted or confirmed to be working on based on the JCM Upcoming issues spreadsheet), or if you can get someone else to submit an article. Or if you have some additions or changes to what's shown below (including green topics), please respond in this thread about that too.

  • Designers (Peter)

  • Administrators (Mark)

  • Developers (Arlen)

  • Sitebuilders (Hagen, Ray)

  • Business Matters (Gabe, Mark, John)
    • Strategies for setting your hourly rate
    • Pros and Cons of releasing an extension
    • Marketing related-TBA
  • Events (Jen, Jon, Hagen, Graeme, Jacques)

Hi all,

After a flurry of Skype posts earlier today, I think we now have commitments for some great articles in all of our new topics for the March issue. Please see the update below, and then let us know if there are any additions or changes or if anyone needs help. The titles I've written below are not the final titles, they are just descriptive, so don't feel like those have to be used!

Thanks everyone for pitching in to get all of our new topics filled for phase 1 of the redesign. Milena has chosen a social bookmarks module so that will also be released on March 1.
