Thanks, David!  When the US Supreme Court renders opinions, there often are dissenting
statements submitted along with the majority opinion.  Should we be expecting to receive
any such statements from those members of the committee who do not support the
final report?  Or are their concerns expressly addressed in the addenda?

We have one abstention (Myles Norin, and he won't be there tonight, nor does he want to submit anything), and one dissent, Jeanette Ezzo.  She does want to deliver her message tonight.

David, unfortunately I have not been able to draft this before now. I do want my opinion to be counted with the other 155 emails you have apparently received.

As there are three trail proposals, I wish to be on record opposing the first proposal your committee approved which involves the bridging of Northern Parkway at W. Rogers Avenue and which then proceeds through the woods of the hospital grounds.

At the meeting with the City and the Committee last week, a question was submitted to the effect,  if the width of W. Rogers is sufficient for combined trail and traffic usage, east of  Enslow, to go from the NW Park to the pediatric hospital, why is it not sufficiently wide to turn and go west from Enslow to Cross Country?  A distance of approximately a block and one which would keep the trail out of the woods entirely.  Gennady in his remarks said something about the Wesley property preventing this approach, but the drawings do not seem to suggest there is anything, but a narrowing of the road to 11' in each direction for cars to leave enough of the road bed for the trail to go east.  Why then would it not be able to go west?

I do not expect that anyone will respond to this question anymore than President Naclas has bothered to check his notes and let me know when he learned the City representatives were only available for one hour at the time of the most recent walk of the woods trail. You told me you learned of that the morning of the walk, but of course it was to the president that I directed my question.

Lastly, I am in favor of the trail crossing Northern Parkway near the Northwest Park and going to Cross Country Boulevard  and thence to Kelly Avenue to use the bike lanes already there to reach the village. It is for this reason I am interested in the answer to my question as that seems to be the simplest way to reach Cross Country from the park.  This has to be less expensive then a plan that requires reconfiguring the intersection of Kelly, South and Newberry.  It also does not require attempting to obtain an easement not yet agreed to across the St. John's Parking lot.

In other words I support the original Tuft's plan and am opposed to either route that uses the  original route in any part of its design.
