The film has seven songs composed by Harris Jayaraj with lyrics written by Thamarai and Na. Muthukumar. The original soundtrack album, distributed by Sony BMG, featured an instrumental track not included in the film.[32] The songs from the albums were released to four leading radio stations in Chennai, with one song per station, in attempt to popularise it five days before the official launch on 24 September 2008, which was the first of its kind in Indian cinema.[33] The album opened to positive response from music critics and audiences and became the most downloaded Tamil album during that time,[34] and was considered to be one of the best albums of that decade.[35] It became the most played and repeated soundtracks within the arrival of music streaming platforms in the Indian music scene.[36]
What is bad: The film is painfully slow. The first half seems like it is a couple hours long and has four songs plus a bit song crammed in. The second half is even longer and most importantly, takes off on a completely different tangent. The autobiographical feel of the film will put off the masses and it is definitely not a commercial entertaining kind of film.
The videos are proof that audiences can never get enough of the film. The crowd in theatres can be seen singing superhit songs, dancing to the tunes with cheers, applause, and shouts of joy. Viewers enjoying the film over the decade as if it is for the first time in the theatres is quite endearing.
Surya S/O Krishnan is written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film stars Suriya in dual lead roles as father and son, with Sameera Reddy, Simran, and Divya Spandana in lead roles. Suriya's chemistry with Sameera and Simran is forever cherished. Harris Jayaraj gave one of the best albums ever with romantic songs that are adored even after many years.
