Hi Folks
This is an important communique the committee would like everyone to be aware of. From our recent AGM we'll be proposing some changes for members to vote on.
Please read the entire message thanks.

Our first request
Please pay the annual membership fee of $30. This is our only source of funding for things like YNZ fees, web site costs and WOF stickers, as examples; and last season only 16 individuals paid.

The association bank account is: 12-3049-0440369-00.
Include your Sail Number and Name in the payment reference
Apart from the funding aspect it also affords voting rights for what is presented below.

  • Under our constitution you need to be a member to vote
  • A simple majority is required to carry any motion
  • Via this email and our Facebook site we'll notify all our paid/non paid members of the 3 decisions sought
  • Specifics are on the Proboard site - you can call me if you have difficulties and I'll  address any queries
  • The notice period will run until the end of August after which voting will commence
  • The voting window will close at the end of September to coincide with the new season.

The decisions we'll be voting on (for details see https://jollyboatsnz.proboards.com/)
  1. Changing the class name from Jollyboat to J14
  2. The boom measurement size - increasing to 80mm
  3. Decreasing the minimum centrboard weight to 2.7 kg.
If you don't wish to vote I'd still invite anyone in the wider community who wish to discuss this (or anything else for that matter) to email me or call me on 021-346507 - it would be nice to hear from non active association members.

I'd like to encourage everyone to participate in determining how our class evolves into the future - so please have your say.

Regards
Jim
