The lady in the pink double on the 1600 block of Dante had a young guy washing her car and he also witnessed the shooting. They are on the right side of the double and may be willing to give a report. Todd Leavitt, a CRNA-Crime Committee member who lives across from her at 1623 Dante, knows her and can probably get you in contact with her.
Then, as my neighbors on Dante and I were talking, the second car passed down Green Street, and the woman who had witnessed pointed the car out to me. I couldn't see well, but a few minutes later, as I was talking to another neighbor, who lives in the red house at the corner of Green/Dante, a similar car passed down Green Street yet again with a suspicious-looking driver who glared at me. The license plate # was PTR-714 and it was a dark blue 4-door compact with the windows rolled down.
These two cars are likely still in the neighborhood with guns. Please have a patrol car sent to the area tonite as soon as you can to investigate and speak with the witnesses.
This is a case where quick response by NOPD might have resulted in catching these guys - they drove back around more than once - or at least demonstrated that our block does not tolerate drive-bys.
Thank you,
AA
(Chair of CRNA Crime Committee)
