Hi all
As we're using the responsive rewrite as an opportunity to make the site user experience better from the experience we'd gained from using the site (particularly on the non-traditional setups, such as your mobile, tablet, fridge, or google glasses), I'd really like us to collate some users stories on how exactly people are using the site that when we all make decisions, we can refer to it and be confident we're not making life too hard for too many people

So I'd really appreciate any stories you might have. Maybe you're an attendee goer with conference wifi and you want to get to the event you're on, fast, to know where you should be going next. Or maybe you're on the bus and you want to double check which building the conference you're on the way to is

I've set up a wiki page - and I've added a couple already. I'd be ever thankful for any more of your own you can add!

If we can collect enough relevant information into the site, it should
be pretty straightforward to write a mobile app that uses the API to
sync a user's personalized schedule, and works whether the internet
connection is reliable or not.

I'm thinking these would be the minimum information needed:

1. "I'm attending" for talks
2. Room numbers -- implemented similar to tracks, but with only one per
session

I think that's about it, actually. Even simpler than a mobile app would
be an iCal feed. O'Reilly has a personalized iCal feed for their
conferences, and it works great with all devices.

Can I add my voice to what a great idea I think this is, please.  There's absolutely no reason why we should tie ourselves to the way the old site worked, we can present the data that we have any way that is useful.  There's some completely fresh ideas on the wiki page already so I recommend you go and have a read, and add anything you'd like.  Seems like a great opportunity for us to get the features into this site that really need to be there.

Regards

Lorna
