Someone should reach out to them and tell them:
1)  Peer is the professional real-time communication tool for external communication
2)  Peer is the Yammer/Hipchat for external communication
3)  With Peer, they can now eliminate email completely
3)  Ask them to use it

From this Angelist post, it reinforces that:
1) Peer needs to have external group chat feature, where you can invite others to join the chat, because thats one thing email does well, group email/cc'ing whole bunch of people.
2) Peer needs to keep track of chat history, with ability to search and filter, because, again, that's what emails do.

You should use this blogpost on Peer's homepage, showing that Peer provides the missing solution to what they were lacking to completely eliminate email.

In addition to my earlier email, Peer is the asynchronized communication with the external world.  "Peer is for the external communication", that should be one of the paragraph headings in the blogpost:)
