Hi

I have noticed that the tsik source "used to be" at Apache Incubator

http://incubator.apache.org/projects/tsik.html

but that the incubator project was cancelled (or do I misunderstand
something?).

I think it would make sense to move the tsik code into the joid project
(and not just the jar) such that one can maintain it better.

WDYT?

Cheers

Michael

Hi Michael

Yes, incubation was canceled . . . ow, you bring up some painful
memories . . . but also a lot of fun! ;)

Moving the source is a good idea. What happens to the apache.org
package names -- can they remain outside ASF?

It really should be a separate project though, referenced by joid,
since there are a lot of tsik ws-security and xml encryption/signature
deployments.

From what I recall, there are only a couple uses of TSIK that could probably be replaced with a supported library like commons-codec.

Probably true.

Joid uses TSIK for Base64 encoding/decoding and generation
of UUIDs (for random nonces) only.
