Are loose tappets good?

I am getting Tappet noise from my bike.
Is it good to keep them loose, i am riding 80-90 kms daily these days

i wud say get them tight.. worst case scenario the tappets wud slip from where they tight it.. happened to me twice n it was bad..takes hardly 5 minutes.. pappu bhai hi kar denge..
