Tuesday May 7, 2013 Today is Day 3

Attention Faculty: Each year, The Patriot Award is sponsored by the
John Jay Athletic Association offering a monetary award to a senior
who demonstrates the meaning of school spirit at John Jay. Please
check your email for details and the nomination form. Deadline is
Friday, May 31st.

AP Exams: If you are signed up for an AP Exam, you must be in the
main lobby by 7:05 a.m. for a morning exam and 11:05 a.m. for an
afternoon exam.

Cap & Gowns:
- Jostens will be here on Tuesday, May 14th, during all lunch periods
in the cafe lobby to deliver rings and to take late cap and gown
orders.
- Cap and gown distribution will take place on Tuesday, May 28th, 7:00
a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and Wednesday, May 29th, during all lunch periods in
room 112.

Scholarship Opportunity for Seniors: The JJ Athletic Association
Scholarship applications are in the main office. This scholarship is
awarded to one male and one female student meeting the following
criteria: minimum GPA with no failing grades in major subjects,
continued involvement in a JJ activity or sport, community
involvement, and continued education after high school. Applications
with attachments must be returned to the JJ Athletic Association
mailbox in the main office. Deadline is Friday, May 31st.

Fall Sports Physicals: Stop in the nurses’ office for a permission
slip. The form is also online.

CLUBS & ACTIVITIES

Senior T-shirts: NHS will sell senior t-shirts this week in the café
lobby during all lunch periods. Order forms are at the booth and the
cost is $15.

Senior Field Day: Set for Tuesday, May 28th, periods 3 – 8. Sign up
forms in the main office. Cost is $2.00 per player. Senior Breakfast
will be held periods 1 and 2. Support your college by wearing your
college shirt proudly!

Yearbooks: On sale in-school through Friday during periods 4-8 in the
yearbook office, room 130. The cost is $90. Checks payable to John
Jay H.S. Activity Fund, with "yearbook" and the student's name written
in the memo section. This is the last pre-sale offered this year and
orders will be taken only while supplies last.

Sophomores:
- Permission slips for the class trip to Dorney Park are now available
in the main office. Cost is $65. The first 100 to give money will be
guaranteed spots. Return to Mr. Crocco in room 192B.
- Class of 2015 t-shirts are on sale this week during all lunch
periods. Cost is $10 and goes towards class activities.

Math Honor Society: Meeting tomorrow at 2:00 in room 128.

Jay Games: Info and team roster packets are in the main office. Team
registration will close tomorrow.

Multicultural Club: Meeting on Thursday after school in room M1.

Powder Puff Game: Set for Friday, 5:00-7:00 p.m. Players need to
arrive at 4:30 p.m. Brief captains meeting today in room 225.

EFPD vs. JJ Teachers Basketball Game: Come support your favorite JJ
teachers as they look to defend their title against the East Fishkill
Police Department on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in JJ’s gym.

SPORTS

Girls Basketball: Girls interested in basketball can attend open gyms
every Monday and Tuesday, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. If you have any questions
please see Mrs. Bianco in the PE Office.

Hockey: JJ hockey registration for all teams will be on Thursday in
the cafeteria, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Come be a part of another
championship run!

Music Concert: All are welcome to attend tonight's free Pyramid Music
Concert in JJ’s auditorium beginning at 7:00 p.m. Come hear fine
music performed by a variety of ensembles!

Senior T-shirts: NHS will sell senior t-shirts this week in the café
lobby during all lunch periods. Order forms are at the booth and the
cost is $15.

Bus Notes: If you’re taking a different bus home today, your bus note

Staff & Teacher Appreciation Luncheon: Today in the library, periods
3-7. Join the PTSA to celebrate; come hungry and remember to return

Used Clothing Collection: Please donate on June 1st at Van Wyck
Junior High, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Troop 10167 Booster Club will
receive a donation for the total poundage collected to help pay for an
educational tour of Europe.

Used Sneaker Collection: Troop 10167 Booster Club is working with
GreenSneakers.org. If you have old, worn out, outgrown, funky, or
otherwise unwanted sneakers (any condition accepted), please donate
them to the sneaker collection box in the main lobby. Any questions,
