Monday May 14, 2012 Today is Day 4

Attention all students, faculty and staff: Please be aware that
Friday, June 8th, will now be the final day of regular classes.
Monday, June 11th, and Tuesday, June12th, will now be for the
administration of some local and district exams. Only students
scheduled to take exams are required to attend school on these dates.

Wappingers Congress of Teachers: The WCT Food Drive begins today and
runs through May 24th. Boxes are located in the main lobby and main
office. Please donate non-perishable food items.

WCT: Brief WCT meeting today immediately after school in room 128.
Please attend.

Cap & Gowns: Jostens will be here to distribute caps and gowns for
seniors on May 22nd and 23rd during all lunch periods in room 112.

Fall Sports: If you plan to try out for a fall sport, please see the
nurse now.

Driver’s Education: The Driver Ed office is now accepting
applications for the summer sessions of driver education. Please see
the Wappingers website for more details.

CLUBS & ACTIVITIES

Community Service: The signup sheet for East Fishkill Barrel Planting
on Saturday is
in the main office. See Ms. Dahl in room 202A with questions.
Transportation is required.

SPORTS

Tennis: Congratulations to the Boys Tennis Team. On Friday, the boys
beat RCK 5 - 2 to capture their 2nd league title in 5 years.

Track: JJ had outstanding performances at the Loucks games over the
weekend with many personal records. The F/S Distance Medley Relay
Team of Caroline O'Brien, Ariana Malone, Samantha Macrillo, and Claire
Gomba placed 5th. Claire Gomba broke the school record in the 3200
with a time of 11:05. Mike Turi placed 6th and broke the 1600m school
record with a time of 4:16.2. Lauren Miller placed 4th in the
Javelin. Congratulations to all!

Tuesday May 15, 2012 Today is Day 5

AP Exam Buses: For morning exams, you must be in the lobby by 7:05
and for afternoon exams, you must be in the lobby by 11:05.

Algebra 2/Trig Review & Algebra/Geometry Review: Get ready for the
regents! See your math teacher for the review class schedule and room
number.

field day team should sign up with Mr. Palazzolo in his office.

Softball Sale: Softball will be selling t-shirts and rally towels
today and Thursday. Be sure to wear the shirts at Thursday night’s
game at 7:00 at the Hopewell Rec.

Interact: Meeting today for all grades at 2:00 in room 128.
Teachers, please leave your recycling bins outside your classrooms.

Senior Class T-shirts: A sample of the 2012 senior t-shirt and order
forms are in the main office. Shirts are $15 each. NHS will also
take orders tomorrow during lunch periods in the café lobby.

Team up for St. Jude's: NHS will host the letter writing campaign,
“Team up for St. Jude’s”, tomorrow, 2:00-4:00, in the café. Bring in
addresses of family and friends to help out in the fight against
childhood cancer.

Senior Prom: Due to high demand, one final day for prom ticket sales
will be on Thursday. Cost is $92 per ticket; cash, money order, or
check payable to JJ Class of 2012.

Community Service: The signup sheet for East Fishkill Barrel Planting
on Saturday at 10 a.m. is in the main office. Meet at Lime Kiln
Recreation Facility. See Ms. Dahl in room 202A with questions.

Bake Sale: Softball will host a bake sale tomorrow.

Fundraiser: The Niall Heraty Fundraiser will be tomorrow during all
lunch periods. Please help keep Nial “Forever in our Hearts” and buy
a gold pin, button, or bracelet.

Tuesday May 17, 2012 Today is Day 1

Geometry Regents Review: Class is cancelled for today.

Attention all students, faculty and staff: Please be aware that

Patriot of the Year Award: Attention faculty and staff, please check
your email for nomination forms for the Patriot of the Year Award.
Deadline is June 1st. This is a monetary award given to a senior who
demonstrates the meaning of Patriot Pride and School Spirit. If you
need a hard copy, please see Ms. Stufano in the main office.

Scholarship Opportunity: Attention seniors, the JJ Athletic
Association is offering a scholarship to a graduating senior.
Applications and details are in the main office. Deadline is June
1st.

Elysium: The 2012 Elysium Art & Literary Magazine is here! All

2012 Student Elections: Elections for class officers and student
council will be conducted electronically this year. The election will
take place next week, Tuesday, May 22nd through Thursday, May 24th.
Students are expected to vote for both class officers and student
council officers on mybigcampus.com. To access mybigcampus.com, from
home or school, use your regular school login and password. Go to the
JJ Website and click on the Student Elections Tab for directions.
Students are not permitted to miss any portion of instructional time
in order to vote. You can vote before school, immediately after
school, or at home. Good luck to all candidates!
