Wednesday April 17, 2013 Today is Day 1

Music Department Fundraiser: Now through April 26th, contact any
music student to get your Ultimate Discount Cards! There are daily

Cupcake Bake Off: Do you love cupcakes and bake them too? Cupcakes
for CAPE Bake-off is being hosted by Dutchess BOCES and the Council on
Addiction Prevention & Education (CAPE) to raise awareness of
prescription drug abuse and other youth risk factors. The event will
be held on April 27 at Shadows on the Hudson in Poughkeepsie from
11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Please apply by April 19th. Forms in the main

CLUBS & ACTIVITIES

Volleyball Tournament: Will be rescheduled. Date to be determined.
Listen for future announcements.

Big Band: Canceled for today. Next rehearsal is April 25th.

Senior Prom: Tickets on sale during all lunch periods in the café
lobby. Cost is $80.00 per ticket. If you are bringing a student from
another school, pick up a guest form in the main office. It must be
completed and signed by your grade level administrator before
purchasing a ticket.

Proscenium: Today, set and lighting crew will meet 4:00-9:00 p.m.
Tomorrow, lighting crew will meet at 4:30.

Math Honor Society: Meeting today at 2:00 in room 128.

Newspaper: Meeting tomorrow at 2:00 in room 216.

WCC Bake Sale: Wappingers Crew Club will host a bake sale tomorrow
during lunch periods. Monies raised go toward the equipment fund.

Junior Class Bake Sale: On Friday. All funds for class and prom
expenditures. Help your class out and bake. Drop off all items in
room 192A labeled with your name and JJ14.

Debate Club: Hosting its 5th Annual Model Congress on Saturday at JJ
from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. If you are interested in debating current
events and the lawmaking process see Mr. Maoriello or any member of
the debate club to sign up. Sign up quickly because committees are
almost full.

BU: Be sure to submit your registration form for the Walk-a-thon to
Mrs. Soltish as soon as possible. The Walk-a-thon is set for April
27th at 10:00 a.m. on the Walkway over the Hudson. All members are
strongly encouraged to participate.

Carnival: The first annual Ketcham Spring Carnival is tomorrow at
RCK, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 pm. to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project, a
foundation to help soldiers injured in war. Games, music, food,
prizes, dunk tank, and more. Come out to support a great cause.

and student council officers are now available in the main office.
Elections will be held May 1-3. Any questions see Mrs. Scheffel in

SPORTS

WCC:
- The 82 members of the Wappingers Crew Club kick off their 2013
Season tomorrow as defending Hudson Valley Rowing League Champions.
The race is at the Hudson River Boat House in Poughkeepsie beginning
at 7:00 a.m. until 12 noon.
- For this event, WCC is hosting a food drive called “Load the
Launch”. Please bring a non-perishable food item and/or pet food
which will be distributed to local food banks.
- On Sunday, the team races again at 7:00 a.m.
- All races can be seen from the boathouse or the Walkway over the
Hudson Bridge.

Used Clothing Collection: Please donate on June 1st at Van Wyck
Junior High, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Girl Scout troop 10167 will
receive a donation for the total poundage collected to help pay for an
educational tour of Europe.

SPORTS

Track: This weekend at Red Raider Relays, the following athletes
received medals. The girls DMR of Marissa Diedrick, Erin Dillmann,
Caroline O'Brien, and Claire Gomba placed 4th. The girls 4x800 team
of Abigail Paglia, Chrissy McGovern, Caroline O'Brien, and Rachel
Martin placed 6th. At NY Relays on Long Island, Lauren Miller placed
4th in the Javelin.

Wappingers Crew (Club-Sport):
- Congratulations for great performances over the weekend. Boys
Varsity 4 won on Saturday and Sunday. Boys 8 placed second on
Sunday. Girls Varsity 8 placed second on Saturday and first on
Sunday. Girls Lightweight 4 placed third on Saturday.
- Varsity girls practice is canceled for today.
