Friday May 17, 2013 Today is Day 5

Bus Passes: If you are taking a different bus home at dismissal, your
bus note should already be in the main office.

Updated June 2013 John Jay Exam Schedule: Attention all students, the
exam schedule has been changed as of May 15th. Please pick up a new
one in the main office or refer to the JJ website.

Cap & Gowns: Cap and gown distribution will take place on May 28th,
7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and May 29th, during all lunch periods in room
112.

CLUBS & ACTIVITIES

Senior T-shirts: Preorder your Class of 2013 t-shirt today. Order
forms are in the main office and due by May 22nd.

Multicultural Fair: Tickets for the fair on sale today in the gym
lobby.

Jay Games: Team meeting today after school in the café. All are
required to attend in order to participate.

Senior Prom: Find directions and info for tables/seating on Ms.
Dodge’s website. Table captains meeting on Monday after school in
room 225.

Proscenium: General meeting on Monday in the chorus room. We will
take nominations for officer candidates for next year.

Senior Field Day:
- Set for May 28th, periods 3 – 8. Sign up forms in the main office.
Cost is $2.00 per player. Senior Breakfast will be held periods 1 and
2. Support your college by wearing your college shirt proudly!
- Anyone without a field day team should see Mr. P in Guidance to join
his team.


SPORTS

Wappingers Crew club: Good luck to Wappingers Crew as they travel to
Syracuse for races against Liverpool, Fairport, Pittsford, and
Fayetteville-Manlius.

Girls Basketball: Girls interested in basketball can attend open gyms
every Monday and Tuesday, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. If you have any questions
please see Mrs. Bianco in the PE Office.

Monday May 20, 2013 Today is Day 6

Attention Students/Cafeteria Rules: Unless you are purchasing food
items, you should not be in the kitchen area of the cafeteria.

Track: The girls track team placed 3rd out of 12 teams at the
Northern County Championship. The following athletes scored points
for JJ:
Josley DeLosSantos - 3rd in the 400m race and 2nd in the 200m race.
Claire Gomba - 3rd in the 1500m run.
Caroline O'Brien - 6th in the 800m race.
Amanda Pecorella - 5th in the 400m hurdles.
Samantha Mosca - 5th in the 200m race.
Girls 4x800 relay of O'Brien, Gomba, Dillmann and Paglia placed 3rd.
Girls 4x400 relay team of Bennett, Mosca, Kohl and Diedrick placed
1st.
Jenny Kraft 5th in discus and 3rd in hammer.
Lauren Miller won the Javelin.
Olivia Malone and Epiphanie Reddick placed in the shot put.
Malone also placed 5th in hammer.
Megan Kohl - 4th in triple jump and 3rd in high jump.
Kelley Anne Cherry - 4th in long jump.
Kaitlin Perine - 6th in the penthalon.

Tuesday May 21, 2013 Today is Day 1

Scholarship Opportunity for Seniors: The JJ Athletic Association
Scholarship applications are in the main office. This scholarship is
awarded to one male and one female student meeting the following
criteria: minimum GPA with no failing grades in major subjects,
continued involvement in a JJ activity or sport, community
involvement, and continued education after high school. Applications
with attachments must be returned to the JJ Athletic Association
mailbox in the main office. Deadline is Friday, May 31st.

Attention Faculty: Each year, The Patriot Award is sponsored by the
John Jay Athletic Association offering a monetary award to a senior
who demonstrates the meaning of school spirit at John Jay. Please
check your email for details and the nomination form. Forms are also
in the main office; please ask Ms. Stufano. Deadline is Friday, May
31st.

are Ultimate Frisbee and Name that Tune.

Junior Prom Pictures: Pick up in room 191.

Big Band: Rehearsal Wednesday after school for our performance at
Night of Jazz next Tuesday. All must attend or speak with Mrs.
Esposito.

Peer Leadership: Meeting changed to Thursday at 2:00 in room 202.
See Mrs. Pendley with questions.

Proscenium: General meeting on Thursday in the chorus room. We will
elect officers for next year.

Senior Prom: Notes to leave early for prom are due by Friday, May
24th. On May 31st, seniors must report to period 3 for attendance and
be escorted by their teacher to the auditorium for a mandatory meeting
for seniors only. BOCES students must see Ms. Dodge on May 30th at
2:00 in room 225.

Mandatory Locker Clean Out: Begins on Tuesday during 3rd period
homeroom at 9:32 a.m. and runs through May 31st. See your homeroom
teacher for your schedule.

Attention NYSTRS Members: Please check your email for info on the
nomination of delegates to NYSTRS Annual Convention. Petition forms
are also available in the main office.
