DVS allows you to DJ using DJ software and digital music file, but with turntables or traditional DJ CD players. The advantages of this include preserving the feel of DJing with vinyl or DJ CD player platters while DJing digitally, enabling digital DJing without having to replace your existing home set-up, and being able to DJ digitally on practically any club kit, however old it is.

DVS uses special timecode vinyl records or CDs which are played on conventional turntables and DJ CD players, such as the ubiquitous Pioneer DJ CDJs. The output of the turntable or DJ CD player playing the timecode is routed into a DVS-enabled sound card box, DVS-enabled DJ controller, or DVS-enabled mixer (examples of these are given below). This changes the timecode sound into computer data.

The whole system runs in the cutting edge TRAKTOR PRO 3 DJ software, used in clubs, bars, and festivals around the globe.

Featuring a disc surface inspired by the 45-rpm record, Digital Vinyl CD-R media provides digital performance, in a retro design. A great way to save delicate LP collections, make a standout business presentation or record your personal music mix, these discs store up to 700MB of data or 80 minutes of CD-quality audio on a single disc. These are one-time record discs, ensuring that your music, images or data will not be erased.

Vinyl emulation allows a user to physically manipulate the playback of digital audio files on a computer using the turntables as an interface, thus preserving the hands-on control and feel of DJing with vinyl. This has the added advantage of using turntables to play back audio recordings not available in phonograph form. This method allows DJs to scratch, beatmatch, and perform other turntablism that would be impossible with a conventional keyboard-and-mouse computer interface or less tactile control devices.

Vinyl emulation normally uses special vinyl records which are played on conventional turntables. The vinyl is a recording of analog audio signals often referred to as timecode. The turntables' audio output - the timecode recording - is routed into an analog-to-digital converter, or ADC. This ADC may be a multi-channel soundcard or a dedicated external USB or FireWire audio interface box, DJ controller device or compatible mixer (usually distributed with the software). The ADC sends digital time code information to the software, which then translates the signal into corresponding changes in the playback speed, direction and position of a digital audio file. The audio file will react as if were pressed directly onto the record. The manipulated audio output of the program is then sent back through the DAC or the computer's sound card, and can be routed into an audio mixer where it can be mixed like any other analog audio signal.

The result is digital audio playback that sounds like music manipulated by an analog vinyl recording. However, there is always a short delay between the needle's reading of the time code and the software's playback of the audio. The delay time is treated as a figure of merit for vinyl emulation products. A shorter delay allows the DJ to have better response and control of the music and is usually not noticeable by the user or listener.

Hi everybody, I am an oldschool dj - also a little into scratching - and running 2 technics 1210 and 1 x vestax pmc 37 mixer. Besides my vinyl records I have a decent collection of digitized tracks/mp3s which I used to play via my M-Audio Torq Conectiv which is some kind of low budget digital vinyl system with time code records. This system worked for many years but now it doesnt work at all, there are no drivers for Win10 (even no for Win8) available and I just have a pretty new Win Laptop which always runs the latest Windows version. Any suggestions what I can do? I have read that even Serato DVS is not working on latest Win versions for some guys...do you have any recommendation what to purchase? A new mixer or pioneer ddj is NO option :) Or are the days of DVS really gone and I have to scratch my mp3 tracks now with those strange wheels of a pioneer ddj? ;) Thank you in advance.

Digital vinyl printing offers large format, full colour printing which can be laminated or shape cut. Used for everything from vinyl and PVC banners, to car wraps, wall coverings and exhibition displays; vinyl printing offers a flexible high quality solution for decorating cars, buildings and windows, both internally and externally.

On the smaller end of the vinyl printing scale, other popular uses include banners such as roller banners, exhibition stands and large vinyl signs. These are weatherproof and durable, providing internal or external signage at a low cost.

The printing industry has undergone huge changes in the past 20 years, with advancements in technology providing more printing options and capabilities than ever before. In most cases, digital vinyl printing has now superseded screen printing and wide format printing has also gone mainstream, as it is no longer the expensive and tricky process it once was.

With these advancements, vinyl printing has moved beyond the realm of blocky letters and basic clip art images, offering incredible, creative and high resolution solutions for signage of all kinds. When it comes to car wrapping, textured vinyl carbons, stainless steel, chrome and other embossed effects have expanded the possibilities and the services offered by companies.

There is a technical consideration lying behind this subjective observation. With a vinyl record, you never leave the analog domain. An analog sound wave is converted into analog tracks on the record, which is converted into an analog electrical signal by the cartridge and then amplified and replayed though speakers that reproduce the original analog sound wave in your room. You can preserve much of the original sound by reducing the information loss and distortion at each step of this process.

A digital recording interrupts this chain by converting the analog signal into a string of digital ones and zeros. The Shannon-Nyquist theorem, published first in the 1940s, was one of the foundational discoveries that made modern telecommunications possible.

Over time, these problems in the digital domain have largely been fixed. Today you can download hi-resolution audio files with 24 bit word lengths and sampling rates of 92, 194, and 384 kHz, or the Sony DSD format that uses one-bit words and sample rates in the gigahertz range.

Almost all of those catalogs have been reissued in pristine 180 or 200 gram pressings, from companies that have literally pulled old vinyl-manufacturing equipment out of waste dumps and reconditioned them.

This shift back to vinyl is now less of a search for perfect sound quality as a nostalgic act of tech recovery, similar to the programmers who continue to use old-fashioned text editors noted in an earlier post. There is something very satisfying about the ritual of taking a record out of its sleeve, cleaning it, and putting it on the platter. It is also a way of connecting with earlier times. I have records in my collection that were given to me as birthday presents when I was in elementary school, that sound spectacular when played on a good turntable and cartridge.

Digital vinyl printing has become an increasingly popular large format graphic solution. Digital vinyl printing uses wide-format inkjet printing machines to reproduce long-lasting, high-quality, full-colour designs, images or text.

During the vinyl printing process the artwork is created digitally and then printed onto a vinyl sheet using a wide-format printer that uses UV-curable inks. Once the vinyl has been printed onto it is then placed onto the cutting machine where the vinyl is cut to the desired shape and size. Large format vinyl is commonly applied directly to walls, windows or mounted onto rigid substrates to create promotional material for commercial use.

Vinyl is an affordable and cost-effective print solution. This is because vinyl can be printed quickly with minimal set up costs. The increase in demand has meant businesses of all sizes can purchase the vinyl rolls for little costs. You just need to ensure you choose the correct efficient large format printers to

Digital Vinyl is made out of PVC material which can withstand various weather conditions as it is highly durable and resistant to wear and tear. The inks used are designed to bond to the vinyl. This ensures that the ink does not fade easily. After printing the vinyl is finished generally with a gloss or a matt seal. The seal adds an extra protective layer to the print which prevents it from scratching, fading and peeling.

There are many types of self adhesive vinyl that we use in large format printing. Adhesive vinyl comes with s self-adhesive backing that can be applied to both indoor and outdoor surfaces. Self-adhesive vinyl is available in various finishes (such as matte, gloss and satin) colours and textures.

Eco vinyl refers to vinyl the has been made out of environmentally friendly materials and methods of production. Eco-friendly vinyl can be made out of plant-based sources, recycled materials and biodegradable materials. The most commonly used eco vinyl for printing is PVC-Free vinyl. Using PVC-free vinyl is recyclable and reduces exposure to harmful chemicals.
