Assuming everyone can make it (please confirm), we should be OK for thursday.

1) Everyone is 19th level!

2) Treasure:  Basically all items are large sized, so probably need to sell any armor or weapons.

6 potions of cure serious
1 potion fly
1 potion barkskin
1 potion water walk
wand of protection from energy [14]   (this is the one I already told you about at the game)
+3 cold resistance chain shirt
+2 flaming burst battleaxe
+2 flaming burst handaxe
+1 returning spear
2 +1 full plate
2 masterwork greatswords
2 masterwork composite longbows (+10 strength!)
Cape of the mountebank
+5 mithril breastplate
+2 keen dragon bane greataxe
5 +1 javelins
mantle of faith
+2 ring of protection
+3 ring of resistance   <--- take note (works as cloak)
+2 amulet of health
4400 gp misc. valuable games, rugs, misc items
5100 gp more misc. stuff
+2 icy burst warmace
+6 bracers of armor
+6 cloak of charisma

when you go back to survey the destruction at the city, you'll find another 12000 gp of misc. valuables in the debris

I can make it. So if everything is large sized, can we pour the potions into smaller potion bottles and double the amount we have?

Naturally the first treasure list that includes multiple things Swifty could use and it's all giant. Although Adrian really doesn't need another +6 to CHA...

The potions are among the things that aren't large, sorry.

By the way, you will have some time to buy/sell, train, prepare, etc... if you want it.  The age of worms is coming, but isn't imminent based on what you know.  Given how powerful Dracotha's generals were, you imagine that he will be an extremely challenging opponent, even if you're prepared.  So you may want to consider looking into some powerful one-time spells/buffs/etc... High level scrolls, spells that let you summon powerful allies, etc....

Not a great haul, but it's better than nothing and we didn't have to pay resurrection fees.  Assuming we're selling everything except for potions/wands, each of us will get to scribe just seven 9th level spells - or 36705 gp to the rest of you.  That leaves the wand of protection from energy for Swifty to hang on to and then the other potions distributed around.

FYI, to keep it simple, armor and weapons can't be resized (at least not easily, but perhaps worth a magical resizing if they're useful and expensive).  Other stuff can be used as is, so the bracers/armor, cloak/charisma, and a few other misc. items may be a real deal at half price.

For the ring of resistance, we'll call that ~50% above a cloak of resistance, so you can sell it for 50% of 13,000 rather than 9000 gp.  So it's 6.5k if someone wants to buy it from the pool.

What would the cost of upgrading the ring be?

Assume +3/+4/+5 would cost 1.5 times the usual 9k/16k/25k, so 13.5k, 24k, 37.5k.  So going to +4 is 1.5*7k=11.5, +5 would be 24k.  Basically, you get it for 7k below the full price, so it's a great deal at +3, but savings stay the same beyond that.

Quick FYI - everyone (except Andrew) should have received an email from me with character updates, new information, what happened on the elemental plane of air (...stays on the elemental plane of air), etc...  If you didn't get this, please let me know - I have multiple emails for some of you and may have messed up...

Two quick things:
1) Please have as much leveling up done as you can before the game. We'll have a little time for that at the start, but I'd like to keep it short; if you still don't have everything finalized, we can go with what you have and you can do final updates after the game

2) What are your plans now that you're back in Mageport? Shopping, crafting, investigation, etc....

Matthew Kirkpatrick

to johnca...@googlegroups.com
2)  Andor is going to be busy researching and crafting.  He'll reappear briefly to aid in some investigation on the wormcrawl fissure and he'll cast a legend lore to aid in investigation.
So, the gate spell can summon a named creature, pulling it through to appear and aid us...what was that titan's name again?

I can cast gate at lvl 9... that or Mass Heal... which is probably the best option for my slot.

PS I would need a Wis of 28 to get a bonus lvl 9 spell. 2 mass heals, or pulling a titan in... lol

I think we can all agree that our group MAY need help fighting Dragotha.  I think we should recruit a dedicated healer npc at least but also try to find others to help.  It took an army to defeat Dragotha last time and he was weakened by investing power in the phylactery at the time.  We should try asking Tensor, the silver dragon and her boss, and perhaps even the Champion of Greyhawk (Auric) to come join the battle.

Kranthanos the Conqueror (Titan). Note that named individuals gated in are not controlled by the spell caster. On the other hand, angry destruction machines aren't exactly hard to use (simple point-and-smash interface). You probably won't even need a paper mache non-dragon head.

Tensor is away when you return, as are Celeste and the High Priest. Eligos and Glymm are there and inform you that Tensor sent the others on a special mission, and then disappeared to complete some important errand - they don't know what.

You'll have to contact Lashonna if you want to ask for her assistance. In any case, she may be interested in hearing how you fared in your quest to destroy the phylactary.

You don't know where Auric and his crew are. (BTW, I found out that
Auric and his team were they characters featured in the relatively early D&D advertisements in comic books.  Green slime dripping over the party of 3 sound familiar?)

While there appears to be no urgency to confront Dragotha, it's clear that his lair will be more than a simple cave. You could have a scouting expedition before going in to confront Dragotha directly if you wanted, but you'll need to figure out what you need to do in town before any sort of expedition. If you have a lot to do and don't want to wait too long, multiple trips may not work. This is, of course, the chance that you'll make enough 'noise' to alert Dragotha that someone is after him.

I'll provide information from the diviniation-type spells and other investigations tonight.

Well, it won't be the first time we've unleashed a crazed titan on some world.  It won't even be the first time we've released that EXACT crazed titan on a world...
I'll do a Sending spell to Lashonna letting her know that the phylactery has been taken care of and asking for any advice in possibly defeating Dragotha (including potential allies?).
A scouting expedition would be a good idea - invisibility, overland flight, true seeing, maybe and energy immunity (fire), etc.  Nothing too involved - and with a new contingency spell (had to be replaced anyways) that teleports me if I'm targeted by any effect.

Maybe you should specify any effect that isn't beneficial? Like heals?

Did we get anything this level, like feats or ability scores?

PS how many feats should we have now?

Feat at 19th (all odd levels).
For Lucius (human), 2 feats to start plus 9 more for odd levels 3-19

Hi,

First, Jen's comment from before brings up a question for Matt: does your contingency only exclude spells cast by Lucius, or are you also letting  Glymm target you?

Second is some information on the Fang dragon for those who are interested (some you'll figure out, and some is just in case you're curious).  What you know of Xyzanth leads you to believe that he was most likely recruited based on the promise of massive slaughter and carnage. After the phylacary was destroyed and Dragotha's army left, he stayed behind to finish the job of wiping out the city of the giants. He used the Mother Worm's cave as a temporary treasure hoard, while he continues to hunt down stragglers. You assume that either the worm didn't attack him, or else that he fought it off and decided to let it live when it fled so that his treasure would be guarded. It helps that Fang Dragons are immune to paralysis. The cave is probably somewhere near or around the city, as the giants were taking the carrion crawler offspring and turning them into traps and ammunition.

-John

p.s. for Matt - Perhaps you should have been immune to the paralysis; the adventures are good about telling you the type of attack and it wasn't poison, so I assumed you'd be affected.
