At 3am 18th January, we met face to face with Mattias Johannes. After many hours of labour, we needed to meet this little boy by having a caesarean. Although this wasn’t how we had planned things to be, we are thankful that both mum and baby are doing well. He weighed it at 3.77kg with a length of 53cm. We would value your continued prayers at this time as we work out whether we should remain in Quito for Karine to recuperate, and to have our little boy checked over by the doctor a few times.
We praise God that we were able to come to Quito to give birth, especially as plans were changed.
