Hi Mary and SAM--

I have started a "group" on facebook - to tell people about the reunion. I have gathered alot of the 1971 people and will be continuing to do so. I am waiting until SAM and Pam determine the best place to add names and e-mail addresses and will encourage people to do that as well. We have about 30 people who have shown interest including some folks from other classes who know me.

As you can see Cyd Kilbey Gorman's address is Cgo...@thedataedge.com and you have mine mcl...@wpsir.com -- both Cyd and I over the years have coordinated reunions for the Class of 1971, so we are working on it.

I do not see a face book page for the Joel Barlow reunion event. You could either create a page for facebook or a group or better yet, establish the event and people will respond to yes, they are coming, no, they are not coming or maybe they will come.

Because your message came from the google group site, I didn't know to whom you were addressing your question.

The Class of 1971 is very enthusiastically looking forward to the event.

What is the link for the JBHS 50 Year Facebook page? Would like to post it on the JBHS 1979 page: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=105249903833

It has 94 members. Our class was about 280.

The original announcement regarding 6/11/2011 is already posted. Would like to add the new FB page as well.

I am an administrator for the Class of 1979 page and can attest to the effectiveness of this. It was launched shortly before our 30 year anniversary and helped generate a larger crowd and pre-reunion excitement. It also served as a virtual ice breaker or cocktail to loosen people up prior to the event.

Right now there are two sites: http://www.joelbarlowps.org/Alumni/Alumni_11June2011.html (just gives the current announcement)
and http://groups.google.com/group/joel-barlow-high-school-alumni (gives the announcement as well as a place to leave your email address, so that you'll be emailed any future announcements).

I did post a msg on several facebook pages that mentioned Joel Barlow High School ...
