JODConverter problem

Hi, 

I am new to JODReports and i need to use JODConverter to convert the output file from .odt to doc or pdf formats.

i have installed the converter on Apache Tomcat Version 6.0.16 and I was able to access the converter main page via http://localhost:8100/converter/ (attached screenshot).

but when i try to convert the file i got the following log and the file will not be converted.

com.artofsolving.jodconverter.openoffice.connection.AbstractOpenOfficeConnection getService

INFO: trying to (re)connect

com.artofsolving.jodconverter.openoffice.connection.AbstractOpenOfficeConnection disposing

SEVERE: disconnected unexpectedly

Can anyone advice how to track the problem? I don't know where to start from.

As I know JODConverter converts office files (doc, odt, docx) to the pdf format.

To convert those office formats to the PDF, you not should have a problem.

You want to convert online? It would be very easy job!

If I have enough time I may help you to develop a sample web application.

But about your problem, how do you start up open office service?

Have you installed openoffice in your system?

As mentioned in JODReport website, I have placed jodconverter-webapp-2.2.2.war in webapp in tomcat and started tomcat.

I don't want to convert the file online. I need to convert it locally.

you are deploying jodconverter-webapp-2.2.2.war in TomCat. It would be a web application.

You want to convert a doc file when your web application is started?
