I've dropped a beta-3 package into the Downloads section
http://code.google.com/p/jodconverter/downloads/list
Main changes since beta-2 are
* OOo process pooling
* OfficeManager implementations are now hidden behing a Configuration builder
* More robust process management by using a platform-speficic
ProcessManager by default
Issue tracker link: http://tr.im/orD1
OOo process pooling is a way to improve thoughtput by starting
multiple OOo processes. As an example, converting a simple odt file to
pdf on my dual-core laptop, a single OOo process can do 670
conversions per minute, a pool of two OOo processes increases that
number to 1170.
For optimal performance the number of OOo processes in the pool should
be equal to the number of CPU/cores on the machine. So e.g. on a
server with 2 dual-core processors you could use 4 OOo processes. I
see no advantages to using more OOo processes than CPU/cores. Each OOo
process will consume additional memory of course.

This is indeed GREAT news. You've seen the bug I posted on OOo and MacOS X.
Lets just hope that someone there cares enough to get it fixed. At least the
CentOS version of my tags using your libs work great. Should anyone using
MacOS X get stuck I can summarize how it was done.
Thanks
Steffan
