Shawn Hitchcock has been consistently hinting at the creation of the third game ever since Emily Wants To Play Too was released. In the ending cutscene for the second game, the Pizza Delivery Man is shown to be reading a news article about the events of the second game. He eventually walks towards a wall that has copies of drawings from the Withers residence and a photograph of Emily's house. The man goes on to say that he should "go back to that house" so he can figure out what's been going on for himself. Fans believe that this is a hint that the Pizza Delivery Man may be the main protagonist of the third game.
On April 24th, 2018, a fan replies to one of Shawn's posts on X, saying that a good name for a third game would be "Emily Wants To Play Again." Shawn replied to the tweet stating "Possibly :)," hinting that Shawn may consider this to be a title for the third game.
On October 6th, 2018, Shawn makes an X post, stating "Yes there will be an Emily Wants To Play 3." He later replied to a (now) deleted reply, stating that "Kiki will be there and I'm trying to decide if Greta will be active too but there are worse things to worry about :)."
Shawn hints at the third game once again in the ending for Pacify. In the good ending cutscene for the Dolls map, the leader of PAH Inc. begins to inform the player about their next mission. They are told they have to go to the Withers Residence, as the Pizza Delivery Man informed the group that sketchy things are happening there. This could be a hint that the PAH Inc. could also be protagonists for the third game as well.
On September 6th, 2019, Shawn makes a post on Steam announcing that more Pacify updates are to be released. He mentions at the end of the post that he hasn't forgotten about Emily Wants To Play 3 and that he has most of the design and story worked out, he just has to piece it together. He goes on to say that he might make it multiplayer, PAH Inc. will visit Emily's house, and that Emilia, the main antagonist for Pacify, will possibly make a cameo. He finishes the post off saying there will be lots of story explaining Emily and Vult Ludere.
On June 4th, 2021, Shawn posts a teaser of another Pacify map onto YouTube. Fans asked in the comment section about Emily Wants To Play 3, and Shawn replied to a few. On a specific comment asking for a possible release date, Shawn states that there is "no date yet, but it will happen." He once again says that he will most likely make it multiplayer, and the Pizza Delivery Man, along with the Sandwich Delivery Man, will team up with members from the PAH Inc. This is the most recent instance of Shawn directly mentioning Emily Wants To Play 3.
If you visit the official website for the Emily Wants To Play series, you can see at the top left of your device a grey header reading "Emily Wants To Play, Emily Wants To Play Too, and 3," further hinting a third game is to come sometime in the future.
Not much is known about the plot since no teasers or announcements of the third game have come out yet, but based off the hints listed above, the third game will most likely include the Pizza Delivery Guy, the Sandwich Delivery Guy, and PAH Inc. visiting Emily's house and the dolls, along with Emilia Ludere making an appearance in-game too. It is also confirmed that Kiki, Emily, and Vult Ludere will be in the game as well, although all antagonists from the previous games will most likely be in the game.
If you guys like I might make a proper full guide with further strategies, but for now while I'm busy with other stuff hopefully this helps people looking for info on the game and going for the quick completion.
Hour 0: No danger - You have a few minutes to explore. I suggest doing the misc achievements here, at the beginning. Step 1 is to find the flashlight. It's in one of a few pre-determined spots in the house. If you enter a room and see a doll, approach the doll. If the doll turns off the lights, then the flashlight is in that room, and should be easy to see as it will be pitch black aside from the light from the flashlight.
Once you've obtained the flashlight, go to the garage and grab the note in the back-right corner (with the windows to the bedroom). Next head to the kitchen and go into the room in the back; you should see Emily run into the corner - follow her down the hole for another achievement.
Having been killed just now, you will start over (with your flashlight in tact). Go to the bedroom and "use" the light to the left of the door at the foot of the bed to unlock the basement. Go into the basement for another achievement, and keep turning right until you find a makeshift bed and a desk. In the top drawer of the desk is a tape - "use" it to listen to it, and obtain the last miscellaneous trophy.
Hour 2: Mr. Tatters (Clown) (plus Kiki) - When the clown makes a noise, stay perfectly still, and do not touch ANY buttons until he goes away, signaled by an audible "sigh". Also do not stand near open doors, as they will push you, and he will insta-kill you.
Hour 3: Chester (Like the doll from Goosebumps) (plus Mr. Tatters) - When you hear him giggle to himself, he is in a corner of the room you are currently in. Make a beeline to the nearest OTHER room and he will disappear. Note of course that is Mr. Tatters spawns at the same time, you're basically screwed (yay RNG).
Hour 4: All 3 dolls - The above three dolls are now teaming up against you. They keep the same tactics, but may spawn at the same time, so you could get screwed, especially if Tatters spawns, and then one of the other two spawns.
Hour 5: Emily - This is by far the EASIEST hour, as you simply must find Emily. Each room has a single possible location that she could be. I'll not list them here as they are obvious, aside perhaps from the basement. If she is in the basement she will be at the makeshift bed I previously pointed out.
Hour 6: Everyone - The hard part. You have 90 seconds to find Emily, whilst avoiding the three dolls. I suggest moving from room to room checking her spawn point for each room carefully, dealing with the dolls on the way. Go from one side of the house to the other checking every room on the way. IF you've checked every room aside from the basement and have not found her, she is in the basement, and you have a high probability of being screwed.
First though, note that when you DO find Emily, don't activate her right away. Your best chance at surviving this hour is to have to find her fewer times. So find her, then stand nearby, but don't get too close. Avoid the dolls until as close to the 10 second mark as possible, and activate her when the timer is at or below 10 seconds. Doing so consistently will mean you only have to find her 3 times.
The only exception to the above is if she is in the basement. If you have confirmed that she MUST be in the basement, then you have to go down there and get out as quickly as possible. I suggest approaching from the bedroom, though there is also the hole in the store room behind the kitchen if you're closer to that entry point and short on time. Get to Emily's spawn point as quickly as humanly possible (run with L3(hold down left analog)) and get the eff outta there. If you hear Kiki spawn while you're in the basement, ignore her. Run to get Emily, run AROUND Kiki, and just get out of there and run to the kitchen to avoid Kiki coming up at you through the floor. If you hear Mr. Tatters spawn, stand still and pray. If you are in the basement and Chester spawns, however, just pause and restart, you're screwed. The only exception to that is if you're literally on your way out of the basement, you MAY be able to outrun him. Note though that he will not stop chasing you if you get to the bedroom; you need to exit the bedroom for him to despawn.
You will have to survive this hour TWICE. First time, when the game says to get out, just stand and await your demise. Let the dolls kill you despite being so close to freedom for the REKT achievement. On your second successful play of the final hour, follow the instructions and leave through the front door to safety and that sweet sweet completion.
Emily Wants to Play is a survival horror video game created by Indie developer Shawn Hitchcock. The game was first released for macOS and Windows on December 10, 2015.[1] It was later released for iOS, Android, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Oculus Rift in 2016.[2][3][4][5][6] A sequel titled Emily Wants to Play Too was released in December 13, 2017.[7]
The player takes the role of a pizza delivery man that has been trapped in a house by a young girl named Emily and her three dolls. Each level of the game is represented by a different hour of the night from 11 pm until 6 am. During these levels, various combinations of the dolls and Emily appear. The player must learn how to interact with Emily and her dolls in order to survive the night.
The game begins with the player character, a pizza delivery man, walking into a house on his last pizza delivery. Upon entering, the front door closes and is locked, presumably by Emily, since she appears for an instant in front of the door. The player must then survive the night from 11 pm until 6 am. Each hour of the game an antagonist is added in the form of a doll or Emily. The player must then figure out how to interact with each doll and Emily herself in order to survive the hours (6 minutes). If a doll or Emily attacks the player, in the form of a jump scare, then the player loses and the game is over. However, the player can retry from the beginning of the last hour. There are various clues on notes and on a whiteboard in the kitchen that help the player to learn how to handle a doll when it appears (although what's written on the whiteboard are usually lies meant to trick the player). The mechanic of each doll and Emily's game build upon each other. The player has to survive by performing tasks with the dolls in the form of children's games.
