Hi guys,

We're looking forward to another colourful and adventurous year ahead with many photowalks and social get togethers.

Anyone can create or suggest a photowalk. A good place to start is to make a suggestion on the facebook wall to get a feel for which date would suit people keen to join. Next step is then to go ahead and schedule a new meetup on http://www.meetup.com/joburg-photowalkers. I'll add the event to facebook and help co-ordinate if required. Our photowalks are free unless there is a cost involved, like for getting a tour guide etc.

Alexandra Heritage Photowalk

Best place I can find for us to meet up is at a public playground on Basil Crescent, Sandton at 08:30 for 9. We can stay in Alex for as long as we like.   
 
 From Marlboro Drive, turn into Lilium Ave at the Shell Garage. Left at little circle into Begonia and then right into Basil Crescent. Park at public playground. 
 
 From there, we'll drive from there in convoy to the Alexandra Heritage Centre at corner of 7th Ave and Hofmeyer Street, where safe parking has been arranged.
 
The tour price is R175. They usually charge R300 and this the best price I could negotiate and I really hope that you'll join us :-)

I contacted Adam Nielson Construction (A) in Wynberg earlier in the week and I just got an e-mail reply to let me know we can park there. Are you guys okay meeting at the playground (B) then doing a convey and parking in Alex (C), or should I accept their offer to park there?
 
I have been a little worried that people might not want to park in Alex, so this is a good option. I could ask the tour guides to meet us in Wynberg and we cross Pretoria Main Rd into Alex by foot.
