Thanks for all the messages on this post :-)

I've added my favourite photographs of the year into one album to complement the note posted on 31 Dec.

Here's the note in full in case you haven't had a chance to give it a read:

We started the year with a series of Graffiti photowalks with help form Derek Smith in January.

February and March we held quite a few photowalks in preparation of an upcoming group show, which was held at 12 Decades Art Hotel from April to July. Special thanks to everyone involved in this ambitious and very successful exhibition. The exhibition centered around the 12 Decades since gold was discovered in Johannesburg in 1886. Walks included a visit to Kliptown Youth Programme (thanks to Karen Lim), Victory Theatre, Carlton Centre and City Deep.

In April, we did a shoot at Johannesburg Zoo as well as a road trip to Cullinan with Jacky Hulme.

In May we did an Ellis Park photowalk, a backstage shoot at Joburg Theatre and also China Town with Ufrieda Ho.

In June, we held a Youth Day walk in Soweto and in July, an evening of painting with light in Newtown and Diepsloot photowalk.

In August a few of us made a short film in 48 hours. We also held an inpirational women photoshoot on women's day and sunrise on Langerman's Kop followed by a Joburg CBD walk.

In September we held a 2nd year birthday bash and there were various heritage walks by Parktown and Westcliff Heritage Trust in celebration of Heritage month.

In October we held a photowalk through the Johannesburg CBD with a few models in Victorian attire for Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photowalk weekend. The next day we visited Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve. Towards the end of the month we did a Purple Snow walk through Rosebank.

Also in October, we gave photographs to each person taken on our Diepsloot Photowalk and installed photographs at the Diepsloot Youth Centre. Thanks to Andre Harmse for getting sponsorship from myphotobook.co.za and all the photographers (Andre Harmse, Darren Smith, Ewan Dressel, Heather Mason, Jackie Hulme, Jane Dunne, Jon Hrusa, Mark Straw, Paula Rutherford) for giving of their time for this special project.

In November, we held similtaneous photowalks in both Westcliff and Kensington to capture the blooming Jacarandas. We ended the month with a photowalk at St John's College (thanks to Richard Brooksbank for arranging access) followed by an end-of-year shindig at Jane Dunne's place.

This time of the year, many of us took gave of our time towards Ubuntu Help-Portrait. Hope more Joburg Photowalkers will partake next year.

In December we held a night time photowalk through Braamfontein and a photowalk through the streets of Sandton - thanks to Craig Nicholson and Jerome West for arranging rooftop access.

There are too many people to thank and I'm sorry if I missed you in the mentions - I've had a rich and rewarding year and look forward to 2012.

Mark
