Installation without Tomcat wrapper

Hi , please correct me if this question is dumb, but I wonder if jobsworth can be installed as ruby only app, i..e without using tomcat ?

Yes it can. It should still run under MRI ruby. But not only is jruby faster, it is also easier to deploy. You don't need tomcat: any container will do.

I personally find the deployment options in an MRI Ruby world rather limited, which is why I've focussed on the .war bundle. I may also experiment with creating a pure executable bundle which doesn't need tomcat at all, but just an installed JVM.

ok. does that mean that with some work I can deploy it as a rails app?

The point is I want to deploy it on a shared server which has no java available at all. is that possible?

Yes. All the tests pass on MRI Ruby.
