ACLU Northern California is seeking temporary part-time to full-time Paid Canvassers to talk to voters in California’s Central Valley.
The Trump administration has brought unprecedented and deliberate attacks on our civil liberties. In reaction to this current political climate, the ACLU feels an urgent need to expand beyond legal defense to voter education. With this, the ACLU seeks to influence elections, voters, and candidates on the issues most affecting people today.
Schedule and Pay:
Minimum 3 shifts a week
Weekdays 3:30pm-8:30pm
Weekends 9:00am-6:00pm
$20/hr
20-40 hours a week
Training is paid
Responsibilities :
Participating in door-to-door canvassing in diverse communities using persuasion and scripts to engage voters
Use electronic equipment to record the results of voter engagements
Work in 4-5 hour shifts
Qualifications
Bilingual in Spanish and/or Hmong a plus
Vehicle required
Outgoing and comfortable with talking to the public, walking neighborhoods and knocking on doors to engage in voters
Strong passion for progressive politics
Previous canvassing experience is a plus
Familiarity with the Central Valley a plus
Must be able to walk for extended periods of time
Must be able to walk in heat and carry a bag
