Greetings JTAL Users -

I'm reaching out today as members of this listserv. We hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy. We know that is the most important priority during this unprecedented global health pandemic. We believe the next most important thing is working for legislative and leadership changes and preparing for our elections. The work we all do to protecting our democracy is essential right now.

I want to share some news and extend invitations. Over the next few weeks, Democratic GAIN, along with Jobs That Are Left, are merging into a new organization and platform called GAIN POWER. GAIN POWER will continue to be a job board and much more. It has new user-generated organizational directories for Democratic Campaigns, Progressive Organizations, as well as Firms and Freelancers who support them. I hope you might add yourself and your organization to it soon.

In preparation for the 2020 elections and beyond, Democratic GAIN is undergoing a big change - planned long before this crisis erupted. We are transitioning to a new organization called GAIN POWER. GAIN POWER will do all that Democratic GAIN has done and more. Right now we want you to know about GAIN POWER 's first event which is a Virtual Career Fair next week.

Here are the details:  Thursday, April 16th, 12:00-3:00 pm Eastern.

Employers Register here for a virtual career fair booth.

Jobseeker registration is here

Whether you are looking for work,  hiring today or over the next few months, this Virtual Career Fair is a great way network and get introduced to potential staff interested in the work your organization is doing. Even if you are putting hiring on hold while you sort out the impact of this current crisis - we encourage you to participate to introduce your work to those seeking to put their skills and experience to service in 2020. Simply offering them some advice and human connection is a tremendous way to help them, and you might just meet someone you can hire when you are ready. It is important that we show that our Democratic Party and the Progressive movement are visible and engaged. Exposing your work now to this community of people, who are eager to be impactful this cycle, will help everyone move swiftly and with intentionality when you are ready. The connections that are made at events like this are beneficial to both you and the job seekers no matter what your hiring plans are today.

Our virtual career fairs use a unique text chat platform that allows you to have a "booth " where job seekers can queue up and then chat with you about opportunities. The exchanges typically last for 5-15 minutes per person. You will be able to rate people you interview and be able to follow up with them after the event about prospective roles.

Our past virtual career fairs have had over 891 job seekers and thousands of one on one conversations. This is a fantastic way to widen your search and diversity of your talent pool.

The Virtual Career Fair offers three different booth options, so your company or campaign can determine which will best help you attract applicants. Some booths have the option for two and four chat seats to maximize how many people you can chat with - also a great option for organizations with state affiliates who may want to hire as well. Gold and Platinum sponsors also get contacts for all the job seekers registered - not just those you get to interview.

Make sure to register here for a virtual career fair booth. Alison Schwartz is our point of contact for employers registering. If you have a question about the levels or how to participate, or if you want to talk for a few - click here to schedule a call with her before the event.

We hope you can join us for this unique and social distance-appropriate career fair!
