Equity Association, the labor union representing over 50,000 Actors and Stage
Managers working in the professional theatre nationwide, is seeking an
energetic and motivated person to serve as the Digital Communications
Strategist. This is a national position working out of its New York
Office. The primary
responsibility for the Digital Communications Strategist will be to create and
implement a comprehensive digital program with a focus on strengthening our
narratives and story-telling to our members – including a new internal
organizing campaign. We’re
looking for a campaigner who can help bring some best practices from the field
and apply them to our own digital program. Other
responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
· Create and adapt email content to be used for posting on social media channels and online in our member portal
· Targeting: Work in partnership with staff in four dedicated offices across the country to ensure our communications are meeting their goals and reaching the right members
· Write and edit digital copy
· Manage the email process from start to finish, including creating and managing landing pages
· Track analytics and performance of digital campaigns over time
· Produce infographics/image shares
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:
· Experience troubleshooting and performing QA on emails required
· Understanding of best practices for political and campaign emails required
· Two years of CRM/CMS experience preferred
· Excellent written and verbal skills required
· Experience creating/editing videos for social media preferred
· Superior interpersonal and administrative skills required
· A demonstrated eye for good photos and graphics required
· Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required
· Respect for confidentiality and discretion required
· Detail-orientation and ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment required
· BA or equivalent degree required
