The Regional Organizing Director (ROD) is a multi-faceted position responsible for developing and implementing our organizing plan in specific Minnesota geographical regions. The ROD will direct and manage organizing staff in the implementation of a volunteer operation responsible for voter turnout and early vote. This position will require a great deal of staff and leaders management, with an emphasis on ongoing developments and staff/volunteer mentorship that will allow the program to grow throughout the campaign.

Responsibilities
- -Manage and implement an organizing program in your designated region. Goals will be created in partnership with organizing leadership. You will be responsible for your team hitting metrics around volunteer recruitment and your region’s voter contact and early vote programs.
- -Hire, train, and manage an organizing team. In most regions, this will require some remote management of staff.
- -Assist in locating office locations and managing operational needs in your region.
- -Implement a training program in coordination with partner campaigns, to ensure voter contact quality and VAN integrity.
- -Coordinate voter contact activities between partners, identify gaps and report them to statewide leadership
- -Manage political relationships and community relationships to support the organizing & political operations in your region.
- -Represent the Minnesota DFL Coordinated Campaign campaign throughout your region.
- -Other duties as needed and directed by campaign leadership.
Qualifications:
- -At least 1 cycle political campaign experience and/or experience in non-profit, community organizing, and/or educational settings;
- -Previous management experience is a huge plus, especially if you’ve been in a middle management role and understand the unique and wonderful challenges of those positions;
- -Experience working and organizing in communities of color
- -Experience organizing on campuses
- -A healthy competitive spirit. You may, from time to time, be pitted against other regions in competition. The rewards for the victors will be rich;
- -Working to advanced knowledge of the VAN;
- -Capable of writing and adapting voter contact scripts quickly;
- -Experience with large and small scale trainings;
- -Strong interpersonal skills that include the ability to speak on behalf of the campaign publicly;
- -Ability to create a culture of inclusion among staff and volunteers within your region;
- -Ability to manage and prioritize multiple demands and projects.
- -Ability to work independently and as part of a team of professionals spread across the state;
- -Thrive in an intensive and outcome-driven work culture;
- -Must be a self-starter; willing to work long, irregular hours;
- -Extensive travel throughout the state may be required, depending on placement.
