Deputy Field Director

The Adrian Garcia for Mayor campaign is seeking self-motivated Deputy Field Directors to join the team. Deputy Field Directors will be responsible for all objectives within their region: volunteers and staff, developing and meeting regional goals, while representing their region. Deputy Field Directors will play a vital role in ensuring a victory in November as they oversee the development and growth of our volunteer and staff infrastructure. Deputy Field Directors will report to the Field Director.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and training a team of Field organizers to create and maintain a productive and robust volunteer infrastructure;
  • Implementing systems of accountability to ensure that regional goals are consistently met;
  • Coordinating regional field events and volunteer trainings;
  • Serving as the liaison for the campaign in your region and representing the campaign at events;
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with community leaders, allied organizations, and other stakeholders

    Skills and Qualifications:

  • One or more cycles of campaign experience, preferably with at least one cycle as a field organizer
  • Strong leadership skills and a commitment to developing a strong and supportive team culture
  • Experience meeting goals and holding others accountable
  • Candidates must be self-motivated and willing to work extremely long hours, including nights and weekends, in a fast-paced environment
  • Personal experience with developing volunteer leadership and teams
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and adjust quickly to changing demands
  • Familiarity with VAN and other campaign technology
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
