Finance Director for targeted state House race- Traverse City, Michigan

A top-tier Democratic state House race in northern Michigan is seeking a Finance Director. The Finance Director will work closely with the candidate, campaign manager, and kitchen cabinet to meet finance goals for the remainder of the 2018 cycle. This is one of Michigan’s most competitive seats. The 104th House seat encompasses Grand Traverse County and is poised to elect its first Democrat ever.  This position is based beautiful Traverse City, Michigan, with housing available that is walking distance to the beaches and downtown of this northern Michigan resort town.

This position begins immediately. This is a full-time cycle position.  

Duties:

Maintain and execute strategic finance plan, including events, call time, email fundraising, and weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals

Prepare for and staff 15-20 hours per week with the candidate

Identify and research new donor prospects

Execute and manage donor research

Assist in writing fundraising emails, mailers, and handouts

Complete any necessary follow-up from call time and events and chase pledges as needed

Hire and manage finance interns and volunteers 

Qualifications:

Knowledge of NGP and Excel

Working knowledge of Michigan campaign finance laws

Strong interest in statewide politics

Willingness to relocate to Traverse City, Michigan for the duration of the election cycle

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends

Excellent attention to detail, effective time management skills, and ability to manage multiple projects with deadlines at once

Proven commitment to electing Democrats 

Ties to Northern MI is a plus.
