Job: HeadCount seeking Development Director (New York, NY)

Civic engagement organization with focus on youth and music seeks Development Director to spearhead fundraising and corporate partnership efforts as we head into a busy and exciting election year. HeadCount is a non-partisan organization that registers voters at concerts through a nationwide network that includes over 100 major touring bands and over 10,000 volunteers. Development Director will be charged with raising funds to support these efforts. Candidate must be ambitious, proactive, out-of-the-box thinker with personal connections to multiple potential benefactors. Candidate is ideally a passionate music fan who will thrive in a non-traditional work environment.

The position will involve identifying, contacting and pitching,potential major gift donors, while also pursuing  and managing other revenue-producing opportunities such as corporate and music industry partnerships, foundation grants, and earned income. Relevant experience a must, but we will consider candidates who have not previously served in this specific role as long as she or he has the necessary contact base, communication skills and drive to succeed. Music industry experience and contacts are a plus but not required.
