Tracy Mitrano for Congress (NY-23) is seeking to hire a passionate and motivated professional for Field Director to begin immediately.

Field Director Responsibilities

• This position reports to the Deputy Campaign Manager and serves as a member of the campaign leadership team, developing and directing all aspects of campaign field operations.

• Design and execute a field plan with weekly benchmarks to reach our win number.

• Track and evaluate weekly voter contact efforts and report performance compared to benchmarks.

• Recruit and train volunteers to reach voter contact goals, by phone, online, and through personal networks.

• Complete direct voter contact shifts.

• Run organizing events like virtual phone banks, postcard parties, text banks, visibility, and trainings and build for voter contact events like meet & greets and virtual house parties.

• Manage a field texting program.

• Coordinate campaign outreach materials requests, including yard sign requests and delivery.

• Design and execute a GOTV plan, including for absentee voting. 

• Work collaboratively with the campaign leadership to ensure success of overall campaign goals.

Field Director Qualifications

 

This position is ideal for a candidate with at least one cycle of experience as a field organizer and involves a combination of direct organizing work and higher-level field program design and evaluation.

 

This position is intended to be remote to start, and may remain remote for the duration of the primary campaign. Both local and remote candidates are encouraged to apply.

 

The ideal candidate will have these qualities:

• Self-starter with great time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.

• Creativity and vision to build new programs from scratch.

• Leadership ability to recruit, motivate, and train volunteers.

• Outstanding interpersonal skills, especially listening skills and ability to communicate professionally and empathetically, in writing and verbally.

• Experience in setting and achieving strategic, measurable targets.

• Previous New York campaign experience helpful, but not required.

This position is based in Ithaca, NY (remote work to begin immediately due to COVID-19).
