NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia

Campaigns Director

NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia is seeking a full-time Campaigns Director to execute strategic issue-based, political, and advocacy campaigns in support of reproductive freedom in Virginia. The Campaigns Director will implement our groundbreaking “culture change” project to destigmatize abortion, expand and diversify NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia’s base of grassroots activists, and manage our political and field program. This position will also directly manage a diverse team of community organizers based remotely across the state.

The ideal candidate is an experienced field director with a strategic mind and proven track record of diversifying and growing a grassroots base. He or she will be committed to getting results in a rapidly changing environment and able to handle a heavy workload without dropping the ball. This position is an opportunity to help pioneer a vision that ensures reproductive freedom and access to abortion is a reality for all Virginia women and see it through to fruition.

About NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia

NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia is a small, but mighty 501c3 and 501c4 nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure that every Virginian can make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive choices, from preventing unplanned pregnancy to having healthy pregnancies, raising healthy children, and accessing safe, legal abortion. NPCV has built a reputation as the state’s leading voice for reproductive freedom and abortion access, and we work closely with state policymakers, advocates, and progressive allies to bring about real and lasting change for reproductive rights. Our 10 year goal is to ensure that all Virginia women can access safe and affordable reproductive health care – including abortion – without shame, stigma, judgement, or fear.

Job Responsibilities

The Campaigns Director will be based out of our Alexandria, Va. office and will report directly to the Executive Director. Job responsibilities include:

  • Developing and monitoring results-driven field goals, objectives, and tactics that increase our grassroots power and align with organizational, policy, and electoral priorities;
  • Supervising a diverse advocacy team that includes three remote community organizers, one volunteer/campus coordinator, and one communications fellow;
  • Building and maintaining strategic relationships with progressive allies, political candidates, policy makers, media outlets and constituents;
  • Developing and managing all aspects of a communications plan, including earned media, digital, and social media;
  • As a member of the organization’s leadership team, developing and implementing NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia’s strategic plan and helping to set NPCV’s long-term vision, goals, and outcomes.
