POSITION: Research Associate, Gubernatorial Campaigns

LOCATION: Washington, DC

 

American Bridge 21st Century PAC, a progressive research and communications organization dedicated to holding Republicans accountable, is seeking a full-time Research Associate to immediately join the Gubernatorial Campaigns research team in its Washington, DC office. This is an entry-level position. The Research Associate will work closely with the Gubernatorial Campaigns Research Director to conduct campaign research efforts centered on U.S. governor races.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work as part of a team to produce comprehensive research products on candidates involved in U.S. governor races;
  • Collect information from public documents, legislative votes, news clips, campaign finance reports, financial and legal records, and research databases;
  • Report results and findings to senior staff;
  • Perform rapid response research projects in key electoral races;
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Savvy computer and social media skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Curiosity to ask questions and self-motivated to independently identify answers
  • Organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines a must
  • Strong commitment to teamwork
  • Be a political nerd and understand and be able to identify what makes an effective political news story
  • Commitment to progressive values

Special consideration will be given to candidates who possess one or more of the following:

  • A background in legal studies, journalism, campaign or advocacy work
  • Spanish language skills
  • Coding skills
  • Familiarity with LexisNexis, Courtlink, Pacer, or the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
  • Availability for employment in two weeks or less.
