Dear Friend, Each week, I like to begin this newsletter with something hopeful—because in moments like these, finding light helps me keep moving forward. This week, I want to lift up the powerful energy of the No Kings demonstrations, and the millions of people across the country who turned out in small towns and major cities to demand accountability, democracy, and justice. Their action is a reminder of our strength in solidarity. |

But in the same breath, I must acknowledge the heartbreaking tragedy out of Minnesota. My heart is with the families of Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, who were assassinated this past weekend, and State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, who are now fighting to recover after being targeted in a violent attack. There are no words for the grief, only shared resolve to carry forward their work and values. As we observe Juneteenth—a time for reflection, freedom, and recommitment—we also look to the work ahead. The GAIN Power team has been preparing for a critical set of events this month to connect, empower, and build up the progressive movement in a time when that work has never felt more urgent. We are less than a week away from the GAIN Power Democracy Expo and 4th Annual Powerful IDEA Awards, taking place June 24–25 in Washington, D.C. Tickets are available at accessible levels, and the Expo is completely FREE for attendees. Our June 24th Expo includes dynamic panel sessions all day long, featuring some of the sharpest minds and most effective changemakers in our movement: |
