GAIN friends,

It's understandable if the term "food bank" brings up thoughts of dusty basements filled with cramped rows of canned goods and boxed pasta. But at Oregon Food Bank, we take a decidedly different approach to anti-hunger work. We're organizing to end hunger and its root causes for goodOur well-resourced advocacy, field organizing and strategic communications teams are not only meeting today's health and economic crises head-on; we're also tackling the systemic inequities and structural barriers that drive generational poverty.

If you're a campaign/advocacy/non-profit professional who's interested in community-driven systemic change, we want to hear from you! Oregon Food Bank recently posted two new positions on our seven-member strategic comms team -- Digital Communications & Engagement Manager and Communications Project Specialist. Due to the ongoing pandemic, both positions are largely remote through at least June 2021.

Summaries included below, with additional details, ideal experience and application process available at oregonfoodbank.org/jobs. That said, please don't hesitate to email me -- jste...@oregonfoodbank.org -- with any questions you may have!

Thanks,
Jason

==================
Digital Communications & Engagement Manager
Salary Range: ~$75,000 to $85,000 (commensurate with experience)

As the Manager of Digital Communications & Engagement you will bring proven experience creating strategies and content that fuel successful digital campaigns. You are known for your ability to think strategically and be proactive in building powerful narratives that drive action. You have strong writing skills and several years of digital content experience in a professional setting — preferably in an advocacy organization, political campaign, service-oriented nonprofit, creative agency, or a similarly dynamic environment.

In this role, you’ll work with a talented team of communications and marketing professionals to develop and implement online engagement strategies that connect with communities and drive action to end hunger. With support from the Digital Analytics Specialist and partner vendors, you will coordinate many aspects of the organization’s digital/email, SMS and social media strategies. You will collaborate with our program, development and advocacy teams, as well as related vendors, to develop a constituent ladder of engagement — writing clear, compelling and targeted content that draws in new audiences and deepens the involvement of existing supporters.

Communications Project Specialist
Salary Range: ~$55,000 to $65,000 (commensurate with experience)

The Communications Project Specialist will coordinate a host of strategies and tactics identified in partnership with Oregon Food Bank’s talented team of marketing and communications professionals. You bring a passion for details, process and organization that enables key cross-department engagement initiatives. You are able to interpret strategies to drill down on measures that keep team members on track and on-schedule. And you apply a ‘get to yes’ approach that promotes accountability and ensures deadlines are met.

This role will manage complex communications projects that make essential resources more accessible to communities and disrupt systems that drive hunger and poverty. The successful candidate will have a sincere interest in collaboration, problem-solving and continuous learning; a firm belief in Oregon Food Bank’s mission; and a strong affinity for our 10-year vision for resilient communities throughout that never go hungry.
