Deputy Field Director for PA County Slate

Montco Victory Fund (Montgomery County, PA) is seeking a Deputy Field Director for the 2019 election cycle. 

Overview: The ideal candidate is capable of setting and accomplishing goals with minimal direct supervision, understanding of Democratic Party politics, and has a history of working successfully within volunteer-based field programs. Scope and depth of the campaign is comparable to a competitive congressional race, making this an excellent opportunity for those interested in running or managing programs in 2020.

NOTE: We are also collecting applications for regional field directors to run satellite offices.

Requirements: 

• Help design and implement a metrics-driven field plan, which sets out aggressive voter contact goals for a slate of Democratic candidates. Metrics should prioritize quality contacts over the quantity of contacts.

• Assist in hiring, training, and managing field staff, oversee field internship program.

• Maintain up-to-date voter contact data.

• Establish and reinforce standardized best practices in all aspects of field for field staff, field interns, and volunteers. Ensure a quality experience for campaign volunteers by training staff effectively.

• Actively support an open and affirming culture for people of all backgrounds

Qualifications: 

• 2+ cycles of field experience in progressive Democratic campaigns (experience in PA is a plus). Applicants for the regional field director positions should have 1+ cycle(s) of experience.

• Experience managing field staff preferred.

• Proficiency in VAN. 

• Previous work training staff, using data in real-time to adjust plans, and a record of empowering junior staff and volunteers is a major plus.

• Be able to relocate to Montgomery County area for the duration of the 2019 election.

• The usual (interpersonal and leadership skills, willingness to work long hours when needed).

Salary: $3,500-$4,250/month, commensurate with experience
