POSITION SUMMARY:  

The mission of the new Mobilization Department at the Democratic National Committee is to bring ordinary people into the heart of the DNC and provide Americans with encouragement, power, and tools to mobilize in their communities. We organize in all 3,413 counties across the country, through the state parties and from the grassroots, and we seek to impact down-ballot races and build the Democratic resistance to the corrupt, dangerous Trump-Republican agenda.

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to join the Mobilization team as Prospects Director. Your job will be to build and relentlessly optimize the experience of new donors to the DNC. You’ll design, develop and implement a new program to expand and strengthen our outreach to potential donors on every available fundraising channel. The person in this job will work with our analytics team to find new insights on the best messages and tactics to convince a donor to make their first gift to the DNC. The ideal candidate for this position has expert expertise raising money in least two of the following fundraising channels: email, paid media, direct mail, SMS, or telemarketing.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Develop and launch an integrated direct mail and email program to attract new donors to the DNC universe.
  • Manage multi-channel programs that cater to prospective donors, including but not limited to email fundraising materials, paid media and direct mail campaigns
  • Work with the Paid Media, Letters (Email and Direct Mail) and Phones (SMS) leads to optimize the experience of making a gift to the DNC
  • Develop and oversee execution of cross-channel marketing plan to bring new donors to the DNC; track and report on progress to goals; work with our analytics team to develop a prospective donor model for the DNC
  • Set fundraising and engagement goals for prospective donors across channels and work with our analytics team to ensure those goals are measured, tracked and met
  • Create a testing program to optimize and refine the experience for prospective donors

 

ABOUT YOU:  

  • 7 - 10 years’ experience developing data-driven fundraising programs and prospecting new donors with an eye toward ROI
  • Record of hitting aggressive fundraising goals
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills; you should have an eagle-eye for typos and errors
  • Strong understanding of key acquisition channels (email, direct mail, telemarketing, etc.) and ability to drive omni-channel approach
  • Experience managing budgets and interpreting reporting
