Overview

A top-tier Congressional race in Northern Virginia is seeking a Field Director to join in the coming months. The Field Director will refine the campaign’s field strategy and lead a team of Organizers, as well as directly executing traditional field activities themselves. A successful candidate will have at least 1 cycle of field experience on a campaign, including GOTV experience; excellent communication skills; and knowledge of VAN/targeting. Applicants must have access to a car, be willing to relocate to the Northern Virginia area, and have a laptop.

Responsibilities

• Craft Field Plan (both volunteer and paid field)

• Serve as the Point of Contact for out-of-district groups bringing volunteers

• Recruit, train and manage volunteers

• Recruit, train and manage Field Organizers or Paid Canvassers

• Oversee quality control on field program

• Set up daily and weekly reporting structures

• Work with campaign leadership and Democratic caucus staff

• Design field targeting and field messaging

• Other duties as assigned

• Take ownership of key field metrics, including ballot signatures, calls, doors knocked, and ID’d supporters

Requirements

• At least 1 or 2 cycles of campaign field experience

• Confidentiality regarding campaign information and employee information

• Experience with Votebuilder

• Able to comprehend messaging and strategy to appropriately train volunteers

• Access to a car and laptop

• Excellent written and communication skills

• Willingness to relocate to the Northern Virginia area

• Able to work long irregular hours (including most nights and weekends)

• Leadership ability to guide and develop staff
