Press Secretary

Purpose/Summary: Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez's reelection campaign is seeking a press secretary. This role will be primarily charged with executing a local press strategy – developing strong relationships with local and foreign-language outlets, highlighting the Congresswoman’s work for the residents of NY-14, and communicating her stance on issues relevant to District residents. This role is based in NYC. 

 

Duties: This role will also respond to all media inquiries related to the Congresswoman’s campaign and staff the Congresswoman at public campaign events and other political events as needed. This role will also be responsible for monitoring all news relevant to the district and the Congresswoman’s reelection campaign.

 

Preferred Skills/Competencies: 

• Spanish fluency  (please note, on your resume if you have Spanish fluency)

• Thrive in a collaborative and heavily team-based environment

• NY-14 roots

• Strong organizational skills

• Self-starter

• Four years of political communications experience

• Campaign experience
