Our Revolution, the organization carrying on the legacy of the Bernie 2016 presidential campaign has three intertwined goals: to revitalize American democracy, empower progressive leaders and elevate the political consciousness. We are seeking a talented individual to serve on the organization’s Political Team as the Political Intern. Ideal candidates will be committed to the organization’s mission of creating a more socially, environmentally, economically, and racially equitable nation by winning key progressive victories. Interns will be paid $15 an hour and provided with a metro stipend. This is a paid, temporary internship to be based out of our Washington, DC offices, and will end at the close of Fall 2018 semester.

Key Functions:

Political Research – Conduct online research and assist with the vetting process of nominated candidates and ballot initiatives for endorsement.
Draft Nomination and State-of-The Race Documents - Compile candidate/issue research and election results into summaries shared with organization leadership.
Distributed and Field Organizing - Participate in and support GOTV (Get-Out-The-Vote) activities with local groups and allies to elevate endorsed candidates.
Cross-Departmental work - Interns at Our Revolution may from time-to-time be expected to help with projects in other departments as well as on other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

Applicant must be a full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate student
Exceptional writing and editing skills
Previous experience in campaigns, electoral politics, and research a plus
Highly organized and detail-oriented, proactive and results-oriented, and capable of working collaboratively and handling multiple projects simultaneously in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Flexibility with schedule; this internship includes occasional evening and weekend work.
Strong alignment to Our Revolution mission and platform.

Compensation:

Interns will be paid $15 an hour and provided with a Metro transit stipend.
