Seeking Deputy Field Director to help implement the field program in a 2017 election in the Seattle area. The DFD
will help hire, manage, and train paid canvassers, and work with progressive organization to manage and train
volunteers. The DFD will work with the field team to oversee training and quality control measures, and ensure
goals of the field program are met.
Field Directors should possess working knowledge of field and paid canvass principles, be committed to
Democratic politics, and willing to put in the work necessary to win.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, and manage paid canvassers to implement the Campaign Field Plan.
- Aid recruitment and hiring process and conduct interviews of paid canvassers
- Plan and conduct all training activities for canvassing staff
- Manage paid canvassers and canvass leads on day-to-day basis
- Conduct rigorous quality control measures and ensure absolute data integrity
- Track and manage payroll and program budget
Qualifications:
- Experience hiring and managing paid canvassers and campaign staff
- At least one cycle of previous campaign staff experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to meet tight and competing deadlines, and
the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously
- Superb attention to detail and diligence in tracking data and canvasser activity
- Working knowledge of political campaign structure and familiarity with campaign technology
- Ability to work long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends
- A car and a laptop are required for this position.
- Good sense of humor and ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing work environment
